1.NITI Aayog launches India Energy Security Scenarios 2047
National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog has launched the second version of an open source web based tool India Energy Security Scenarios 2047 calculator (IESS 2047).
The tool was launched by the NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Arvind Panagariya at a function held at the Federation House in New Delhi.

Scientist Dr Modadugu Vijay Gupta to receive inaugural Sunhak Peace Prize
Noted Indian agricultural scientist Dr Modadugu Vijay Gupta has been chosen for the inaugural Sunhak Peace Prize.
He will receive the first Sunhak Peace Prize in South Korean Capital city of Seoul along with President of Kiribati Islands Anote Tong.
Dr. M. V. Gupta has been selected for this award for his pioneering work in the blue revolution. He has invested his entire life to developing sustainable aquaculture as an alternative solution to the future food crisis.

CCEA gives nod to Differential Royalty Payment to states on crude oil production
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved the proposal for payment of differential royalty in respect of 28 discovered fields to the respective State Governments concerned.
These 28 discovered fields were awarded by the Union Government to different companies in states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Gujarat during the years 1994-95, 2001 and 2004.
The royalty payment will be through budgetary allocation from the year 2015-16 onwards instead of Oil Industry Development Board (OIDB) fund.

PM inaugurates birth centenary celebrations of Rani Gaidinliu
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 24 August 2015 inaugurated birth centenary celebrations of freedom fighter Rani Gaidinliu.
On this occasion he launched commemorative coin of 100 rupees and circulation coin of 5 rupees of Rani Gaidinliu to mark her birth centenary celebrations.
About Rani Gaidinliu
Rani Gaidinliu was a Naga political and spiritual leader who had led a revolt against British colonial rule in India.<

1.India, Nepal ink MoU on Raxaul-Amlekhgunj oil pipeline
India and Nepal have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the construction of Raxaul-Amlekhgunj oil pipeline.
This pipeline will be the first of its kind project between two neighbouring countries in the SAARC region in the oil and gas sector.
The MoU was signed by Union Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and his Nepali counterpart Sunil Bahadur Thapa (Nepal’s commerce and supplies minister) in Kathmandu.
